Cinnamon Sticks (Kayu Manis) 5g

Kayu Manis (cinnamon stick) is the dried, reddish-brown bark of the cinnamon tree. You can buy it from the market in curls. They are used in Nyonya cooking as condiment as they add a sweet, floral fragrance to dishes. 

The fragrance comes from the aromatic essential oil that the bark releases. Cinnamon sticks find their way into both savoury as well as sweet dishes, from curries and stews to pastries, cookies and cakes.
